I am a fifth year Ph.D. student at the University of Hawaii's Institute for Astronomy. The aim of my dissertation is to more quantitatively understand the structures of molecular clouds, and how this information can be used to diagnose a cloud's internal star formation activity. This involves mapping clouds with sub-millimeter telescopes on the summit of Mauna Kea, as well as developing statistical techniques to compare these data to simulations of star forming regions. My primary thesis advisors are Jonathan Williams and Alyssa Goodman.
Since September 2010, I have been conducting my dissertation at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics with Alyssa Goodman. In June 2011, I was awarded a Smithsonian Predoctoral Fellowship to continue my study in Boston.
